Beyond the Pathway
BACKyard transformation
“Stephanie was easy to work with. She is detail oriented and accepted my change requests with grace. Always kept me up to date as things progressed.”
Beyond the Pathway is now complete! This lovely client reached out to me at a time when she was ready for a transformation in her backyard landscape. The main ask was to simplify her backyard garden spaces which were filled with a variety of high maintenance perennials. The main ask was for an easy to maintain planting scheme, a bit of privacy (not completely hedged) and finding a landscaper to support her efforts in weeding and maintaining tidyness. When designing this garden, I kept in mind viewpoints from the clients’ kitchen, from her deck and the first impression as you walk into her backyard. Simplicity came from using low maintenance trees and shrubs as a strong foundation for the space and just a few select flowering perennials to add pops of colour and texture. Repeating plants throughout the garden space added balance and cohesiveness throughout. Blended together with an existing Standard Hydrangea and Japanese Maple, as this garden matures, there is going to be incredible visual interest with some very unique and special plants and variety all year round. Although there is no irrigation system, the homeowner is committed to watering her garden regularly and is keeping installing an irrigation system on “the list” for future. The client is extremely happy with her simplified transformation and we have found her a very skilled landscaper to attend to her maintenance needs.
