Front Yard Landscape design: Elevating Your curb appeal
Have you heard the expression, “You have one chance to make a good first impression?” Well…your front yard is just that for your home. Creative and smart landscape design improves curb appeal, increases property value, and solves functional challenges like poor drainage or awkward entry paths.
With my guidance, a landscape design plan will:
Frame your home with year-round plant interest
Improve circulation pathways using walkways, stairs, etc.
Minimize maintenance with thoughtful plant choices and irrigation
Light pathways for added safety and ambiance
Why Front Yard Landscaping Matters
Your front yard is the first thing guests, neighbours, and potential buyers see — and it sets the tone for your entire home. Master in the Field Landscape Design specializes in designing front yard landscapes that are beautiful, functional, low-maintenance, and welcoming year-round.
Led by Stephanie LeBlanc, a Ryerson Landscape Design graduate, CLD candidate, and member of Landscape Ontario, every design is thoughtfully crafted to match your home’s architecture, your lifestyle, and your own dreams for your front yard landscaping.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
A timeline is always dependent on the size and scope of your project as well as my own workload. I never want to rush for the sake of getting a project done quickly. Having said that, most front yard projects take between 3–8 weeks. Sometimes this is longer if permits are required.
-
In very specific situations, I can assemble a team to execute landscaping installations. Otherwise, I work with one of my highly qualified and trusted Contractors who are able to take my design plans and ensure they are installed to the highest quality and in a timely fashion. Even in this situation, I am still available when it comes time to ordering plants and placing them according to the design plan.
-
Yes. Designs are created to accommodate changes in elevation. This is usually spotted through slopes of varying steepness or old steps leading to front door. In the installation phase, groundwork addresses grading. Changes of elevation are addressed using retaining walls and clever planting design. Always with changes of elevation, it’s important to be mindful of drainage and how water is moving on your landscape.
-
Yes! You’ll receive our Seasonal Plant Care Guide with every project, and we also offer an optional Maintenance Plan covering all installed plantings and materials.
-
Absolutely! Whether you prefer clean modern lines, a cottage in the city aesthetic, a more classic look, or an English garden, my design process ensures your plans are unique to you.
-
If your front yard requires city permits (e.g., for retaining walls or entry adjustments), I can assist by providing you with the necessary drawings to submit for this process. In the odd case, an engineer may be required to complete this process.
